Augusta Horse & Carriage Parade Information
If you would like to participate as an Entry in the Augusta Horse and Carriage Parade please carefully read this page and the other pages under the "Participate" section of our website.
ALL EQUESTRIAN DISCIPLINES ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE, and we want entries that represent the traditional as well as the unique, unusual and fun aspects of being involved with horses. The coaching party and their elegant four-in-hand, the farmer with his team of trusty mules pulling a wagon loaded with cotton bales, the huntsman and the hunt field with their hounds, teams of polo players ready for a match, the teams of logging horses hard at work, a dog cart ready for a day of quail hunting, mounted Native Americans in tribal dress, ladies riding sidesaddle, mounted cutters, reiners, drill teams, riding clubs, re-enactors, etc., etc. The possibilities are only as limited as your imagination!
Do you have an unusual horse-drawn vehicle, or know of someone who does? Fire pumper, lunch wagon, omnibus, hansom cab, chariot, etc, etc.? We definitely want speciality vehicles to take part in the Parade! We may even be able to provide the appropriate hitch, harness and driver, if needed.
And we also want what we are calling "Fantasy Horses." Costumed riders depicting Darth Vader or Zorro mounted on black horses. Prince Charming and a knight in shining armour on white horses, Cinderella in a pumpkin coach, a Pegasus, a unicorn . . . you get the idea.
Do you have an Entry that you think would appeal to our spectators, but it doesn't involve equines? Do you have oxen, goats or dogs which are trained to pull a vehicle? Then we want you, too!
If you have any questions or suggestions, give us a call at 706-828-4323. We look forward to having you join us for the 15th Annual Augusta Horse & Carriage Parade!
Our Primary Focus Is the Safety of Spectators, Participants & Animals!
